I have been living for 25 years on the Greek island of Naxos, one of the most beautiful places in the world. A place that has brought me so much happiness. But some years ago, my life changed. I was diagnosed with cancer. For a while, I felt no longer able to see the beauty of the island. But after I underwent successful surgery and I was recovering, I started to go for long walks to regain my strength. It was then that the colors came back to me more brightly than ever. Through the lens of a borrowed camera I connected with all the beauty around me - of landscapes, faces, details, joyous moments, and a new adventure started. I followed a photography course - my teacher Vasilis Bakalos taught me to look differently and to catch the moment. In the summer of 2012 I also got my first professional assignment and photographed some beautiful small hotels on Naxos, Astypalaia, Patmos, Samos and Chios for Jacoline Vinke’s (third) book “Jacoline’s Small Hotels in Greece” (published by Papasotiriou in June 2013). I am ready for more!
